Position:  SEO Specialist (Part-time)

 


OVERVIEW

McD Digital is an experienced web design and web development company that can trace its roots to the late 1990s, when businesses first started realizing the importance of having an online presence. Located in Pekin (near Peoria, Illinois) with client service offices in Bloomington, Rockford and the Quad Cities, our desire was to keep our clients, in the Midwest and beyond, at the forefront of online marketing, so we hit the ground running and developed creative websites that showcased all they had to offer. As the Internet and interactive industry as a whole grew, so did our knowledge and service line – making us a leading provider of interactive services for government, tourism, agriculture, banks, insurance companies and other businesses.  Today, we offer full service digital solutions encompassing web development, SEO, social media, and pay per click marketing.

POSITION SUMMARY

This part-time*, entry level position will have two distinct focuses, search engine optimization and pay per click marketing.  Search engine optimization will be the core function of this position while providing some PPC support on designated accounts.  The SEO specialist will work cross-functionally with our internal resources to architect and implement SEO solutions that support our client’s overall program strategy. This person will be responsible for all day-to-day execution of all SEO account activities.  Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, internally, and with external project stakeholders is necessary to succeed in this position.  Additionally, the SEO specialist will work closely with our PPC strategist with support activities that ensure both initiatives are meeting the overarching client program goals.  Some PPC account execution will be required. 

SEO Responsibilities:

·         Execute all necessary SEO activities for all SEO accounts

·         Work collaboratively with Account Executives, Project Managers and other interoffice disciplines to manage the SEO/PPC programs

·         Perform site audits, write audit reports and develop suggested implementation plans

·         Conduct page content optimization, write custom tags, keyword research, link building

·         Website and landing page conversion optimization

·         Directory audits and submissions

·         Monitor industry trends and algorithm changes to advise when program adjustments are needed

·         Monthly reporting including statistical analysis

·         Proactively follow up with client recommendations and implementation plans

·         Continuous client communication through on-site/virtual meetings, quarterly reports and email communications

·         Ensure all client programs are operating within budget parameters

·         Provide soft sales support in terms of attending prospect meetings or proposal development

 

PPC Responsibilities (for assigned accounts):

·         Work directly with the PPC strategist and provide support as directed

·         Consistent review and adjustment of client accounts via Google AdWords

·         Make keyword bid and budget adjustments along with other metrics changes

·         Oversee creation of ads where needed

·         Write and submit monthly client reports as well as conduct internal updates with appropriate AE’s, AC’s, and PM’s

·         Ensure PPC programs are meeting client’s desired targets and make adjustments and improvements where necessary.

 

Immediate Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, or related field and/or industry experience

·         Digital mindset with understanding of how search engines work with websites

·         Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

·         Ability to self-manage and direct work across multiple disciplines

·         Excellent organizational and project management skills

·         Ability to effectively communicate and write

 

Preferred but not Required:

·         Familiarity with 3rd party SEO tools such as Yoast or All In One

·         Experience with Google Analytics

·         Experience with Google Adwords

·         Experience with web development

·         Knowledge and working experience with various content management systems such as WordPress or custom solutions

 

*This position is currently classified as part-time with the opportunity to advance to full-time.
